Rotative Screen

This method is sometimes referrd to as „Storck coating“ which refers to the most popular manufacturer of these coating heads. In this method, the coating is transferred onto the substrate by being pushed through the holes in the rotating screen by a fixed knife / doctor blade. The coating should be of a certain viscosity, so it will be able to form a homogeneous film on the substrate after it has passed the screen.

The coat weight is determined by the factors viscosity, mesh size of the screen and the thickness of the screen mesh.
