Meyer rod

A metal rod with spiral grooves allows a certain amount of coating to be transferred onto the substrate web that passes underneath. The amount of coating in influenced by the viscosity of the coating as well as the depth, width and density of the spiral grooves on the rod.
Here, the viscosity of the coating should allow the coating film to form a homogeneous, even surface after being transferred to the substrate.
