Bath coating/dipping
When bath coating, the substrate used usually is a porous, absorbent material like fabric or nonwoven. The substrate is passed through a bath of coating liquid. This way, the substrate is “soaked” with the coating liquid. Excessive coating is removed by two pressure rollers after the dipping process.
The coat weight is determined by the absorption capacity of the substrate, the pressure of the rollers and the concentration of active substance in the bath.
