Gravure Roller

This method uses an engraved roller which transfers the coating liquid from a coating bath. Excessive coating liquid is removed from the surface of the roller by a doctor blade before it gets into contact with the substrate. After this, the coating liquid is trabsferred onto the substrate by contact under pressure.
The amount of coating transferred is influenced by the size / depth and density of the grooves in the roller, the pressure between roller and substrate and the viscosity of the coating.
